When you play with fire, primer cord, fuses, and dynamite - you just never quite never know when - but, is this unexpected. Really?

"In a Hail Mary-style last ditch effort, desperate stooges" of the Democratic Party "have attempted to confuse Michigan voters by hijacking the name of the Tea Party movement," Weiser said in a statement. "Every true Tea Party organization has disavowed this effort and identified it for what it is: base political maneuvering."

Really, GOP blaming Democrats for hijacking name of Tea party and confuse Michigan voters?

Oh! There just anger because somebody else did to them what they do to others. I'll keep an eye on Michigan papers.

The number of signatures filed Wednesday is far more than the 38,013 needed to get a new party on the November ballot. If the filers also met the requirement to get at least 100 signatures from at least half of the state's 15 congressional districts, they could nominate candidates to run in the general election.

I love this story! lol

Michigan Republican Chairman Ron Weiser said the move is a trick by GOP opponents to confuse voters.

But here I thought the Tea Party were a non-partisan group and unaffiliated with the GOP. Why, oh why would it confuse voters?

Maybe, because the GOP only wants a Republican candidate on the ticket and Tea Party on the ballot will confuse the Tea Partier. I like Nevada's ballot - there is a spot for a protest vote - candidate "none of these candidates".

There you go, using that gosh-darned logic...

It was only a matter of time before the GOP began to experience this blowback for fanning the anti-government fever of its far right fringe base.

Some Republicans see Wednesday's filing as a ploy to trick voters into picking Tea Party candidates rather than Republican ones, even if the official Tea Party candidates have little in common with traditional tea party values.

So... You're saying that Tea Partiers and those who might normally vote Republican aren't bright enough to actually examine the candidates, their stances on the issues, and actually make up their own minds, rather than rubber-stamping candidates based on the label? Nice.

and this is the Michigan Tea Party Alliance website - like that big disclaimer - It is not us

I like this not a political party - A leaderless group, but they have a spokesperson.
